Kamontip is an independent consultant in stress management and a teacher of mindfulness meditation, based in southwest London. When a university lecturer and radio producer in the early 1980s, she experienced a life changing event: suffering from severe physical exhaustion, she attended a meditation retreat in south Thailand and emerged revitalised and indescribably happy. She has since been to many more such retreats in Thailand, India and the UK. She writes a blog on mindfulness for The Huffington Post. To read her Huffpost blogs, please click huffingtonpostblog.
Kamontip has a keen interest in the science of meditation. Her MSc research thesis 'Can Mindfulness Meditation restore verbal memory in menopausal women?' showed the beneficial effects of mindfulness meditation on menopausal symptoms, especially in sleeping problems.
